Easy Beginner Setup Guide for the SpeedyBee Mario Mini 25 (Pro / O4 Version)

New to FPV drones? Don’t worry — this guide walks you through unboxing, setup, and your first flight in simple steps. Many official manuals are in Chinese or too technical, so we made this straightforward English version.

Safety First: Fly in an open area, away from people and buildings. Follow local drone laws. Start without propellers for testing.

1. Unboxing – What’s in the Box

When your drone arrives:

What you’ll find inside the SpeedyBee Mario Mini 25 box (drone, props, tools, and accessories).

  • The drone (frame, motors, flight controller, built-in ELRS receiver, and DJI O4 Air Unit on Pro versions).
  • Propellers (check rotation arrows).
  • Battery strap, USB cable, spare screws/parts.
  • Possibly a basic manual or links to 3D print files.

First actions:

  • Check for shipping damage.
  • Charge a 3S LiPo battery (450–600mAh recommended, XT30 connector). Never let it over-discharge.

2. Install Props Correctly

Match the arrows on the motors and props (props-out configuration is common).

Correct propeller direction – match CW and CCW arrows. Install with props off the motors first for safety testing.

3. Connect to Betaflight (Free Setup Software)

  1. Download Betaflight Configurator (official site or SpeedyBee downloads).
  2. Plug the drone into your computer via USB-C.
  3. Open Betaflight – it should detect the AT32 flight controller.

Betaflight home screen – connect your drone here.

4. Bind Your Radio Controller (ELRS)

The drone has a built-in ELRS receiver – works great with RadioMaster Pocket or similar.

Enable the correct UART port for ELRS in Betaflight Ports tab.

Binding steps:

  • In Betaflight → Receiver tab: Set to CRSF.
  • Power on radio and drone.
  • Enter bind mode (radio menu or Betaflight ELRS tab → Bind).

ELRS binding – look for “Binding…” confirmation on your radio.

Test sticks in the Receiver tab.

5. DJI O4 Video Setup (Pro Version)

  • Activate the O4 Air Unit via goggles or DJI Assistant.
  • Bind to your DJI Goggles (N3, Goggles 3, etc.).
  • Adjust camera tilt if needed (20–30° is common).

6. Pre-Flight Checklist

  • Props off → Arm and test motor direction.
  • Check video feed in goggles.
  • Set low battery warnings.
  • (Optional) Install prop guards for protection.

7. First Flight Tips

  • Use Angle mode for beginners (self-leveling).
  • Hover low and slow at first.
  • Record flights with O4 for review.
  • Practice in a simulator first.

Common Issues & Quick Fixes

  • No bind → Match firmware versions.
  • No video → Re-seat cables and reboot.
  • Wobbles → Factory tune is usually solid; community tunes available.
